About Kathy
It took three beginnings to arrive at the right one.
My professional path has been anything but linear. I built a diverse career across human resources, sales, marketing, recruiting, real estate, and team development. Each role sharpened my ability to understand people, build relationships, and grow something meaningful from the ground up — skills that would later become essential in developing my practice.
Before 2008, I was thriving in real estate. Then the market collapsed. Like so many others, I experienced significant financial devastation and was forced to find a new direction. What initially felt like an ending became a pivotal turning point. I had always felt a pull toward the mental health field, but life had a way of steering me toward more immediate, practical decisions. As a single mother, my priority was simple and unwavering: keep the lights on and create a secure foundation for my family. But that deeper calling never went away.
When everything shifted, I finally gave myself permission to pursue work that aligned with both my purpose and my lived experience. I earned my Master's degree in psychology and began working in an inpatient setting, starting in an entry-level position and growing into a Director role over twelve years. When that role was ultimately eliminated, I once again found myself at a crossroads — needing to reinvent, reimagine, and integrate everything I had learned with the passion that had been calling me all along.
That's how The Moore Resilient Group was born — a name that reflects not just a business, but a journey of resilience, reinvention, and growth. What began as a solo endeavor quickly evolved into something much greater. The team I had worked alongside for years as their director believed in the vision and took a leap with me. Today, we're a group of seven highly skilled clinicians, each deeply committed to providing meaningful, effective care to the people who trust us.
I write here on subjects I've spent decades working through with clients and within myself: trauma, anxiety, depression, life balance, family of origin issues, and the quiet work of becoming more whole. My goal isn't to keep readers in therapy indefinitely. It's to help them get well — and to share what I've learned about how that actually happens.
